PRE ISLAMIC ARABIC Understanding the Arab conditions before the arrival of Islam is very important meaning in the context of learning the history of civilization and the development of Islam from time to time. This is needed as a description of the early birth of a religion the largest in the world born in the midst of the peninsula of persecution 1 and able expanding to all corners of the world. A. Origins and Geographical Position of the Arab Nation The Arab nation can be categorized as a nomadic nation (moving) which is included in the Caucasoid family of sub-races. Mediterranean which includes the area around the Mediterranean Sea, North Africa, Armenia, Arabia and Irania. Arabs according to historians are divided into several group 2 1. Arab Aribah which includes the Ad, Thamud, and Thasm. Arab This Aribah is also referred to as Arabic Qahthaniyah which was ancestral to Qahthan or it can also be called Yamaniah because he lives in Yemen. 2. Arabic Muta'arribah or also called Arabic Qahtaniyyah lowered tribes Jurhum and Ya'rib. From Ya'rib derives the great Kahlan and Himyar. Whereas those who belong to the Himyar tribe are Qudla'ah, Tanukh, Kalb, Juhainah and Udzrah. 3. Arabic Musta'ribah or Adnaniyah developed into two major tribes, namely Kabi'ah and Mudlar. From the Kabi'ah came the tribes of Asad and the Kabila Wail. The Wail tribe branched into the Bakr and Taghlab tribes. Branched mudlars became Kabila Qais Ailan who descended the clan Hawazin and Sulaiman and the Tamim tribe. 1 The term jahiliah is used by the Qur'an to describe the period before Islam came, QS al-Imran 154 and QS.al-Ahzab 33 "... and do not be decorated and act like people the old ignorance .. In the view of the geographers, the Arab region is very hot, p this is due to the condition of the Arab region which is a connection to the desert from the West to the Sahara desert in Africa to the East across Central Asia to the Ghobi Desert in China. While the ikilim that occurred in the Arab jazira can be divided into three areas: 1. Tihamah is a very hot and windless area. This region stretching along the Red Sea to Najran Yemen. 2. Hijaz, namely an area consisting of sand dunes, the area in center and face to face with the temperate Red Sea moderate. 3. Najad is an area whose very high ground lies extending from Samawah desert in the north to Yemen in the south. 4. Yemen is a green area located south of Najad in the Northeast Red, south of Oman, Hadramaut and north of the Indian Ocean. 5. Arudh is an area that is geographically separated from Arab hindrance. This area runs from Yemen, Najd, Iraq through the Yamamah region, Oman and Bahrain. Meanwhile, in terms of livelihood, the population of the Arab peninsula is large tending goats and hunting.
